Approved and used by Mike Mangini (Dream Theater, Drummer of the Year*), Tempo Advance is the metronome app to bring your musicianship to the next level. Now our exclusive consultant, Mike has been using Tempo Advance since its inception four years ago as a practice tool and an invaluable companion for his Rhythm Knowledge drumming system.

The new Polyrhythm Mode enables concurrent playback of two meters with different beats per measure, synced on the bar. Find out what any combination of up to 20 beats per measure sounds like.

Retaining the hyper-accurate audio engine from our bestselling Tempo, the UI on Tempo Advance has been rethought to focus on the metronome visual cues.

Auto setlist advancement, accelerando, ritardando and playback tracking makes it possible for you to program count-ins or complex songs with varying tempo, time signatures and rhythms.

Pros and cons of Tempo Advance - Metronome app for iPhone and iPad

Tempo Advance - Metronome app good for

One useful function among others is the ability to preset different tempo marks and time signature changes! Great app! Keep up the good work Frozen Ape!
Drummer, guitarist, pianist, or anything else, you must work with it ! Very uselful in rehearsal as in gig.
Long ago I was searching luckless for a good metronome app. Having tried out many I found ForzenApe´s Metronome (1). With many features and great stability that was the app I wished. BUT there were several possibilties to improve certain small things. And these resulted in this great successor. Metronome 2 from Forzen Ape is THE ultimate app a musician wants to have. Thank you VERY MUCH!
I have given away my Tama Rhythm Watch and switched to Tempo 2. There are many reasons: - The app provides stable timing and easy conguration of click sounds associated with main counts and subdivisions. - You can save setlists which is very handy to store different click settings (songs, exercises etc.). - The developer of this tool is a real nice guy and very responsive. Throw in new ideas and he will get back to you. - Goodie: by selecting the pro soundset to will listen to Gavin Harrisons preferred clicksounds manufactured by himself... thats really cool. All in all... a sure buy.
I use it a lot. Could react a little faster, but still does the job nicely. Cool app!
The app itself is awesome and I think its currently the best metronome on the app store. I can only recommend this to everyone whos trying to do some serious practicing. Feature request * iPad support. This app is great, it deserves better looks * increases / decreases in a set tempo range

Some bad moments

The gated sound is still not fixed in the last update. Every beat is cut. Please look into this. I am performing live music nearly every week. All band members are wondering about the sound. Believe me, this small bug feels like a big one! Please fix. 17.08.2011 still no update. Wouldnt buy it again. Really bad Sound Bug and no response from the developers. 22.09.2011 Update (Version 1.2.3) gated Soundbug (analog clickset) still not fixed. 25.10.2011 still not fixed, no response to my emails with sound samples explaining the bug. Message on Facebook concerning this bug was deleted without response. Zero support since a couple of months. Trying to get in touch with the developers didnt work, everything until then is ignored.
Controls are hard to figure out and impossible to use. It cant decide whether I want 30 or 230 bpm. Buttons difficult to understand and no tap feature that I could find. My $40 Boss met. outperforms this app.
This is NOT user friendly. Their minimal version is easier. The description implies that you can create a tune in the set list with multiple tempos, time signatures and even gradual changes (rit), but I sure cant figure out how and the help doesnt explain it.
I was hoping there would be a bar/signature time counter. They should put that in
I have used metronome and metronome 2 metronome is mite stable , nit great but ok this company is a disgrace in terms of customer service and support I strongly advise you stay far away from this !
I cannot use my ik blueboard pedal board, as i could with "tempo" cheaper version. I cannot import setlist done with "tempo". So for me it missing important features that the other has ,i had to keep using the cheaper not "advanced" version i wasted 4 euros
